Jokowi prays Eid al-Adha in Simpang Lima Semarang, KPU chairman becomes preacher

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady, Iriana Jokowi, are expected to attend Eid al-Adha prayers in Simpang Lima, Semarang, Central Java tomorrow. Indonesian KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari was the preacher.
“Khatib: H. Hasyim Asy'ari (KPU Chairman). Theme of the sermon: Qurban as a test of faith,” said the Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Ministry of State Secretariat, Muhammad Yusuf Permanenta, to a written statement, Sunday (16/6/2024).
Identification prayers in Simpang Lima Semarang are scheduled to start at 06:30 WIB. As a priest, KH Zaenuri Ahmad Al Hafidz is the caretaker of the Nurul Coran Islamic Boarding School in Semarang.
