Jokowi's message during the celebration of the last Eid al-Adha as president
Joko Widodo (Jokowi) celebrated the Eid al-Adha holiday for the last time as President of Indonesia. The head of state said that sacrifice through cattle slaughter during Eid al-Adha is an expression of human gratitude and sincerity for God's blessings.
“The sacrifice is an expression of our gratitude and sincerity for the blessings of Allah SWT,” read an excerpt from a statement on the Instagram account @jokowi in Jakarta, Monday (17/6).
In the upload, which was liked by over 26,000 followers, he wished her a happy Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah.
“I hope the spirit of this holiday will further strengthen unity, for a peaceful and progressive Indonesia,” he said.
The president celebrated Eid al-Adha this year in Semarang, Central Java province. The Head of State performs Eid al-Adha prayers at Simpang Lima Square, Baiturahman Mosque, Semarang.
The President donated a total of 68 sacrificial cows to 38 provinces in Indonesia on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah.
He provided sacrificial cows for the Indonesian Capital (IKN), sacrificial cows for the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, and sacrificial cows for the Baiturahman Mosque in Semarang.
In addition, 26 sacrificial cows were handed over to religious leaders, community leaders, traditional leaders and IKN Islamic boarding schools.
