Mingling with the community, President Jokowi and Acting Governor of Central Java pray Eid al-Adha and sacrifice in Semarang
SEMARANG – Acting Governor (Pj) of Central Java, Nana Sudjana performed Eid al-Adha prayers with the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), in Simpanglima area, Semarang city, Monday (6/17/2024).
During Eid prayers, Nana Sudjana and Jokowi were in the front row. In this line, there were also other officials, such as PUPR Minister Pangdam IV/Diponegoro, Central Java Police Chief, Central Java Police Chief Kajati, Kabinda and the Central Java Regional Secretary, Sumarno. Meanwhile, Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu is in the women's row with First Lady Iriana Jokowi and Acting Chairwoman of TP PKK Central Java Shinta Nana Sudjana.
The Eid al-Adha prayers at Simpanglima were solemn and orderly. The caretaker of the Nurul Qur'ani Islamic Boarding School in Semarang, KH Zainuri Ahmad, acts as prayer leader. Meanwhile, General Election Commission (KPU) Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari was appointed as preacher.
After the prayer, Jokowi accompanied by Nana Sudjana greeted the audience. The two then symbolically handed over the sacrificial animal to the sacrificial committee of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Semarang.
Jokowi offered a sacrificial animal in the form of a simmental cow. The cow weighs approximately 1,250 kg. Jokowi's sacrificial cow is scheduled to be slaughtered on Tuesday (6/18/2024), at the Islamic Center.
“We have a mandate from the President, cows to slaughter and distribute. “This is the first experience of slaughtering a big cow,” Baituraman Mosque Foundation chairman Ahmad Darodji said after symbolically accepting Jokowi's cow sacrifice.
Meanwhile, Acting Central Java Governor Nana Sudjana sacrificed two simmental cattle this year. Namely a cow named Manggala with a live weight of 832 kg which was handed over to the sacrificial committee of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Semarang. Another one named Sambara with a live weight of 775 kg was handed over to the committee of the Central Java Grand Mosque in Semarang.
Currently, the sacrificial cow of the Acting Governor of Central Java is at the Semarang Islamic Center. The cow is also scheduled to be slaughtered on Tuesday (18/6/2024).
