Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in the national capital. After the meeting, he wrote on X that India is committed to strengthening its strategic partnership with the United States for global good.

The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Jake Sullivan took place days after the former met US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy.

Jake Sullivan will visit the nation's capital on June 17-18. This will be the first trip by a senior Biden administration official to India since Narendra Modi became prime minister for a third term.

Earlier in the day, Sullivan met with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The two senior security officials held in-depth talks focusing on the implementation of the ambitious Indo-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), bilateral defense relations and the regional security situation.

Jake Sullivan is touring India with a high-level delegation of senior U.S. government officials and industry executives.

News agency PTI reported that Ajit Doval and Jake Sullivan also discussed the proposed India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) in the backdrop of a delay in its rollout due to the current situation in Western Asia.

Jake Sullivan also met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.

He expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between India and the United States would continue to make strong progress during our new term.
