President Jokowi and Acting Central Java Governor Nana Sudjana hand over the sacrificial animals

The Eid al-Adha prayer, which was held solemnly and orderly, was led by the caretaker of the Nurul Qur'ani Islamic Boarding School Semarang, KH Zainuri Ahmad, and the Chairman of the Election Commission General (KPU) Hasyim Asy. After the prayer, President Jokowi accompanied by Acting Governor Nana Sudjana greeted the community and symbolically handed over the sacrificial animals to the sacrificial committee of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Semarang. Jokowi donated a simental cow weighing around 1,250 kg which will be slaughtered on Tuesday (18/6/2024) at the Islamic Center.
Chairman of the Baiturrahman Mosque Foundation, Ahmad Darodji, said this was their first experience of slaughtering a cow of this size. “We have a mandate from the President for the cows to be slaughtered and distributed. This is our first experience of slaughtering large cows,” Darodji said.
This year, Central Java Acting Governor Nana Sudjana also donated two simental cows as sacrificial animals. A cow named Manggala with a live weight of 832 kg was handed over to the sacrificial committee of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque of Semarang, while another named Sambara with a live weight of 775 kg was handed over to the committee of the Grand Mosque from Central Java. in Semarang. The cows will also be slaughtered at the Islamic Center in Semarang on Tuesday (18/6/2024).
