Jokowi's sacrificial cow slaughtered for the first time at Istiqlal Mosque

The sacrificial cow offered by RI President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was slaughtered at the Istiqlal Mosque on the first tasyrik day of Hari Raya Idul Adha 1445 Hijri which falls on Tuesday (18/6/2024).
“Today we started the slaughter of sacrificial animals, starting with the cow of Indonesian President Joko Widodo and continuing with the cow of Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin,” said division head Riayah of the management body of the Istiqlal mosque, Ismail Cawidu. , quoted by Antara, Tuesday (18/6/2024).

Besides Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin's cows, Ismail revealed that 60 cows and 12 goats were slaughtered today. The meat from the sacrificed animals, he explained, was distributed to 25,000 people in need.
“We’re trying to share it in a professional way and hopefully they can get everything,” he said.
Based on the data obtained, the sacrificial meat was distributed to local communities around Istiqlal, mosques, prayer halls, Islamic boarding schools in Jabodetabek, as well as to a number of parties who had submitted proposals .

The slaughter of sacrificial animals at the Istiqlal Mosque is also monitored by the Central Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Safety Sub-Department (KPKP) before their slaughter until the day of their slaughter.
This monitoring includes inspection ante-post-mortem, namely the health of the animal before the slaughter of the sacrificial animal, and at the time of slaughter for the spleen, liver and entrails.
