MILLIONAIRE donor Boris Johnson has backed Labor to put the big guys back in Britain.

Phones4U founder John Caudwell handed 500,000 to the Tories in 2019 but said Rishi Sunak was an absolute failure.

Last night he added that Sir Keir Starmer was his newcomer, even though he once said that reformist policies seemed sensible.

However, he did not say he would open his checkbook to Labor before the July 4 election.

In a statement he said: For many years I have been rather despairing about the performance of the party I have supported for 51 years: the Conservatives.

Only five years ago I donated half a million to the Conservatives to help avoid the disaster that would have been Jeremy Corbyn in Downing Street.

Over the last two years in particular, I have been amazed by the way Keir Starmer has transformed the Labor Party and brought it back from the Corbyn abyss.

When Labor launched its manifesto last Thursday, I was pleased to see that accelerating economic growth was at the forefront and that projected growth was clearly linked to the drive to make Britain a superpower in terms of clean energy.

I can therefore publicly declare that I will vote Labor and I encourage everyone to do the same.

We need a very strong Labor Government capable of taking extremely bold decisions and you can be assured that I will do my best to influence them wherever I can, to put the big guys back in Britain.
