Protesters demand release of Imrans

Like the rest of the country, people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) also staged peaceful but massive protests in various districts for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan.

In Kohat, rallies were held at Kacheri Chowk for the release of Imran Khan and hundreds of other imprisoned party members, with leaders and participants demanding that the “false” cases against them be dropped.

Aftab Alam Afridi, KP Minister of Justice and Finance, Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Shafi Jan and Dawood Afridi, Tehsil Gumbat President Sajid Iqbal, Tehsil President Lachi Ehsan Khan, Former District Kohat Nazim Naseem Afridi , PTI district chief Salman Shinwari, local office Party bearers and a large number of party activists along with the general public participated in the protest.

The workers reached Kacheri Chowk in the form of large rallies under the leadership of Law Minister Shafi Jan and Dawood Afridi, where they transformed into a large peaceful protest.

The protesters held up huge pictures of Imran Khan and chanted slogans “Shame on you, free Imran Khan”. The provincial justice minister, assembly members and other leaders, in their respective speeches, thanked the “courageous and zealous people” of the district who, despite all the difficulties and trials, had stood firm alongside 'Imran Khan in every difficult hour and raised his voice for Khan sahib and all other “innocent” prisoners through peaceful protests.

They said Imran Khan and other “innocent” PTI workers and leaders should be released immediately.

The minister said on the occasion that Imran Khan was not fighting for personal gain but for the survival and freedom of the younger generation, which was not wanted by the “oppressive” forces controlling the country's resources.

The speakers further said that if Imran Khan deviates from his stand, he will be released from jail today and Imran Khan is punished for raising his voice for people's rights, real freedom as well as development and prosperity of the country. the country.
