Head of the DPP PKS Mardani Ali Sera commented on the results of the Kompas Research and Development survey which showed that the public considered the candidates in the regional elections close to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). According to Mardani, Jokowi's influence will diminish, or even disappear, in the regional elections due to the change in leadership.
“This investigation will always change. Mr. @jokowi will also withdraw it on October 20, 2024, so that on November 27, when the regional elections will all still be dynamic,” Mardani said in a tweet on his personal account /06/2024).
“When leadership changes, it usually doesn't take long for the replaced leader to be forgotten. Unless there are two suns. The main thing is to remain optimistic and not depend on certain numbers,” he said. he added.

Contacted separately, Mardani estimated that the roughly one-month span between the end of Jokowi's term and the regional elections was long enough to reduce its influence or effect. According to him, there will be a rationalization on the part of voters in determining the candidate they have chosen.
“There will be a rationalization. Because a month or more is enough for an outgoing president who is no longer in office to continue operating. Each era has its own leadership character. (The effect) diminishes and may even disappear,” Mardani said.
It is known that Kompas Research and Development published an investigation into the relationship between the selection of candidates for the 2024 regional elections and President Jokowi. As many as 54.3 percent of the public are considering candidates with ties to Jokowi.
