Non-biological PM with deviant remarks: Congress on Modi's pre-session message
New Delhi: The Congress on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the non-biological PM, had nothing new to offer and as usual resorted to 'diversion' in his remarks before the start of the 18th Lok Sabha. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the prime minister had not shown any evidence that he understood the true meaning of the people's verdict.
“The non-biological Prime Minister who suffered a resounding personal, political and moral defeat in the Lok Sabha elections has just delivered his usual 'desh ke naam sandesh' in Parliament as the 18th Lok Sabha prepares to begin its term” , did he declare. . “He said nothing new and, as usual, resorted to diversion. He showed no evidence that he understood the true meaning of the people's verdict, which saw him win only one narrow and dubious victory in Varanasi,” Ramesh said in a post on Ramesh.
In his customary remarks before the start of the 18th Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi said India needs a responsible opposition as the people want content and not slogans. He said people want debate, diligence and not disruption in Parliament.
Modi said people were expecting good measures from the opposition, but it has been disappointing so far and expressed hope that it will fulfill its role and maintain the decorum of democracy. He also recalled that the 50th anniversary of the Emergency falls on June 25 and called the rejection of the Constitution a “black spot” for Indian democracy.
