The People's Court aims to summon defendants from the Jokowi regime to stand trial and account for various policies adopted, but instead violates the constitutional rights of the people. The summons was sent to President Jokowi.
It has even been sent to various political parties that have sponsored, supported or tolerated various policies that have negatively impacted the population, and have not supported policy proposals that protect the population. The summons were served via official letters sent to official offices and to the defendants' official social media accounts.
Extraordinary People's Court spokesperson Edy Kurniawan said the effort was made because empirically, the Jokowi regime had allowed, and even deliberately provoked, the hijacking of state institutions by narrow power interests. and short-term profit and the accumulation of power of oligarchs or state capture.
“The misuse of state institutions ultimately resulted in various policies that directly or indirectly violated the people's constitutional rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” Edy said.
