PM Modi congratulates BJP's Om Birla on being declared Lok Sabha Speaker again.

BJP's Om Birla won the Lok Sabha Speaker election through voice votes on Wednesday.

NDA pick Om Birla was elected Speaker of the Lok Sabha for the second time on Wednesday after a motion moved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was passed by voice vote.

The Prime Minister also appreciated Birla for his attitude and said his smile made the parliamentarians smile.

The Prime Minister also informed that Om Birla is the second parliamentarian to be appointed to the post of Speaker of the Lower House after Balram Jakhar, who was also elected Speaker of the Lok Sabha twice.

Jakhar's term lasted 9 years and 329 days.
