This is BCA's response regarding Jokowi's proposal to extend credit restructuring

JakartaPT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) responded to President Joko Widodo's proposal to extend the credit restructuring affected by Covid-19 until 2025. It is known that the OJK stopped the credit restructuring policy in March 2024 .

Hera F. Haryn, executive vice president of corporate communications and social responsibility of BCA, said that in principle, BCA will always be attentive and compliant with the policies of the government, regulators and banking authorities, including credit restructuring expansion projects affected by Covid-19.

For information, BCA's credit growth was followed by controlled credit quality, in line with the gradual return of the restructured credit portfolio to normal payments.

Hera said BCA's subprime loan ratio (LAR) was 6.6 percent in the first quarter of 2024, down from a year ago's figure of 9.8 percent. With this in mind, NPLs were well maintained in the first quarter of 2024 at 1.9 percent.

Apart from this, BCA also maintains adequate CKPN value, with NPL coverage of 220.3% and LAR coverage of 71.9%.

“We will always review reserve costs based on changes in asset quality and Indonesian economic conditions,” Hera said.

In the future, BCA will continue to encourage the distribution of credit in various sectors, always taking into account the precautionary principle in accordance with national and global macroeconomic dynamics.

For information, as of March 31, 2024, the remaining credit under restructuring amounted to IDR 228.03 trillion, down from the position at the end of 2023 which was IDR 265.78 trillion.
