Jokowi says there are no plans for new autonomous regions even though 300 regencies/cities propose expansion

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo stressed that there are no plans expansion New Autonomous Region (DOB) in Indonesia in the near future.
“There are no DOBs, there are no temporary DOBs across the country, yes,” he said. Jokowi in his statement written during a working visit to Central Kalimantan, Thursday (27/6/2024).
He said the government had no plan for this. Although he does not deny that many regions have proposed expansion.
“Even though more than 300 districts, cities and provinces have applied, there is no date of birth,” he explained.
