State Ministry Secretariat rejects expansion of Jokowi's retirement home
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Secretary of the Ministry State SecretariatSetya Utama, said there was no expansion of the land as a state gift to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. Jokowi Nursing Home will be located on an area of 12,000 m2 in Blulukan Village, ColomaduKaranganyar, Central Java.
“The purchase of the land was made on land belonging to two people. So I corrected it, it was not an extension. “Land purchases are in line with the planned budget ceiling,” Setya told Tempo, Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Setya said the 12,000 m2 plot matched the size of the original plan. The land is located between two restaurants.
The retirement home offered by the state to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi is reportedly under construction soon. The house is located on an area of 12 thousand square meters on Jalan Adi Sucipto, Blulukan Village, Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java.
Blulukan Village Head Slamet Wiyono confirmed the news of the start of construction of Jokowi's retirement home. He revealed that the physical construction of Jokowi's retirement home is scheduled for July.
“The zinc covering the site of the construction project of President Jokowi’s retirement home began to be installed last Monday (June 24, 2024),” Slamet said when met by the media crew at his office, Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
He explained that the State Secretariat met with the PUPR Department of Karanganyar Regency regarding permission to cut trees on the site for material access to enter the project site. The project manager of PT Tunas Jaya Sanur, he continued, also took care of PLN, Telkom and PUPR service.
“In July, construction work begins. “The new partner takes care of cabling issues at PLN and Telkom,” he said.
He further said that the contractor would approach the village government for permits or notifications as well as processing and other permits. Meanwhile, the construction of the house is expected to be completed by 2025.

“For the start of the work, the new zinc fence covering the project will be installed,” he said.
According to Tempo's observations, the grounds of Jokowi's retirement home, located in the economic center of the Colomadu area, are currently partially covered with 1.5 meter high white zinc. A number of workers were seen using heavy equipment to level the ground and clear brush.
Some workers were also seen starting to build offices for the workers. Construction materials have also started arriving at the project site.
Jokowi Nursing Home occupies land in a strategic area in Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. To the right of the field is the Taman Sari restaurant, a destination for tourist buses. Meanwhile, on the left is the Grandis Barn restaurant.
President Joko Widodo will end his term in October 2024. He will be succeeded by the elected presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto. The elected vice president is Gibran Rakabuming Raka who is his eldest son.
