India, fourth most represented country in world university rankings, PM Modi hails institutes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the performance of Indian universities in the world university rankings. According to statistics released recently by Phil Baty, Director of Global Affairs, Times Higher Education, the participation of Indian universities has increased significantly since 2016. A total of 31 universities participated in 2016 and the number has now increased to 133. By 2024, no less than 124 universities participated in the world ranking. Earlier, on June 7, QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd CEO and Managing Director Nunzio Quacquarelli said that the last 10 years have seen continuous improvement in the performance of Indian universities in the QS World University Rankings under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
