President of Turkmenistan received Minister of National Defense of Türkiye
Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Yashar Güler.
The guest conveyed to the head of Turkmenistan the cordial greetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It was emphasized that Turkey attaches particular importance to expanding the multifaceted partnership with Turkmenistan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended his warm greetings to the head of the brotherly state, noting that the development and strengthening of strategic and long-term cooperation with the Republic of Turkey constitutes an invariable priority in the foreign policy agenda of the Turkmenistan.
Stressing the importance of the working visit of the head of the defense department of a friendly country to Ashgabat, the head of state expressed confidence that the upcoming meetings and negotiations will give new impetus to Turkmen-Turkish relations in this domain.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral partnership, which has significant potential.
The Republic of Turkey is currently one of the main trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan and occupies one of the leading positions in terms of foreign trade turnover. In this regard, the existing possibilities of building fruitful ties were discussed.
The effective nature of bilateral cooperation in the defensive and military fields was particularly highlighted. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, permanently independent and neutral Turkmenistan consistently follows the principles of military doctrine, which is purely defensive in nature. All conditions are created in the country to improve the combat skills of personnel of the Armed Forces and other branches of the army.
Turkmen defenders of the fatherland participate in seminars held in the Republic of Turkey in order to improve their professionalism and study advanced methods of military affairs. In addition, the exchange of experience on the modernization of material and technical equipment of the National Army and the introduction of new technologies is carried out systematically. In this regard, the Head of State and the guest discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation in this area.
As reported by TDH, Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan met today with Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey.
The parties discussed issues of further development of relations in the field of defense between the two countries, in particular intensification of cooperation in digital technologies.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of the established cooperation.
