Xi Jinping confirmed his presence in Brazil to participate in the G20, says Alckmin CNN
Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) said that Chinese President Xi Jinping will come to Brazil in November to participate in the G20 summit and meet with Brazilian President Luiz Incio Lula da Silva (PT).
The statement was made this Thursday (28) in an interview with CNN360 (Monday to Friday, 3 p.m.).
President Xi Jinping confirmed that he would travel to Brazil in November for the G20 and then have a bilateral meeting with President Lula, the vice president said.
The G20 summit is an annual gathering of the world's 20 largest economies. This year the meeting will take place in Rio de Janeiro on November 18 and 19.
During the interview, Alckmin also highlighted the good trade relations between Brazil and China through the Sino-Brazilian High Level Commission for Consultation and Cooperation (Cosban).
Cosban is a negotiation mechanism between Brazil and China, which meets every two years. According to Alckmin, Brazil exported $80 million to China in 2022. In 2023, this value increased to $280 million.
China is currently Brazil's main trading partner. Those who buy the most from Brazil are China and exporting is fundamental because it generates jobs here in the country, Alckmin added.

The vice president also believed that in addition to China, Brazil maintains good relations with the United States.
