In his remarks to Buntok residents, President Joko Widodo said that currently Bulog has a rice stock of 1.7 million tons and the available stock in Bulog Buntok is 1,500 tons. “But indeed, everywhere in the world, food prices are increasing because production is decreasing,” the President said.

He explained that this was due to a long heatwave and drought in all countries of the world. “So we are encouraging production to increase and harvests to be bigger,” he said.

In the same spirit, the head of Bulog for the Central Kalimantan region Budi Cahyanto interviewed by the media, he said that the agenda of the president's visit to the Bulog warehouse, apart from ensuring stock availability, was also linked to the distribution of food reserve rice “and he wanted to ensure that this program would actually benefit the community,” he said.

He also said food reserve rice was distributed from January to May, “and today it was symbolically distributed for June 2024 to food aid beneficiaries in Buntok,” he said.

“Apart from that, the President also wants to ensure that the stock of Bulog Buntok is 1,500 tonnes of rice, which is enough for three months, and the President wants the circulation of this rice to be smooth and good. quality (no yellow rice, odorless, lice, etc.) he stressed.
