Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discussed various development issues of the northeastern state. Mr. Saha met Mr. Modi at the New Parliament in New Delhi on June 27.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister requested Prime Minister Modi for new rail link from Belonia in Tripura to Feni in Bangladesh, Indo-Bangladesh connectivity via Maitri Bridge in South Tripura district, construction of 15 new Eklavya model residential schools, declaring MBB Airport in Agartala as an international airport, according to an official statement.
The Chief Minister also urged Prime Minister Modi to establish Agar International Trade and Research Center at Agartala, include Sabroom-Ramgarh-Chittagong and Sabroom-Ramgarh-Mongla routes as protocol route for transit and transshipment, indicates the press release.
Mr Saha also called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and urged him to sanction two more Indian Reserve Battalions and release funds for security-related expenditure.
The CM met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and requested him to set up Sainik School at the Assam Rifles grounds at Teliamura in Khowai district and at Udaipur in Gumati district. He also met Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda and sought setting up of an AIIMS-like institute in the state.
