Voters don't want Starmer, they're just fed up with the Tories
In a sign of thawing relations with Rishi Sunak, he also praised the Prime Minister's performance in this week's BBC debate against Sir Keir.
He said Mr Sunak had shown what he could do and, on any fair interpretation, had won by dismantling Sir Keir's illegal immigration policy.
Mr Johnson said the Labour leader had no plans to stop the boats and would abandon the Rwanda project just as it began to work as a deterrent.
He also warned that Sir Keir wanted to drag Britain back into the EU single market like a whipped rabbit, even if it meant free movement.
But the former prime minister said the main reason people rightly looked at Starmer with such hesitation was the economy.
Do the British want to be hit with even higher taxes when they have already paid so much tax? Do they really need it? he asked.
No, certainly not, and yet that is what Starmerism is all about. Labour is now so sure of its victory that it no longer bothers to hide its agenda to destroy your assets, your pensions and much else besides.
Left-wing and dangerous
Mr Johnson warned disaffected Tory voters that the more attention is paid to Starmerism, the more left-wing and dangerous it becomes.
He added: This is why Starmer is so strangely unloved, for a man on the verge of triumph. It's not just that Starmer doesn't have the charisma of Blair, but he also doesn't have the broad appeal of Blair's policies.
Let's be real, the only reason Starmer is (allegedly) about to get such a landslide is because so many Tory voters have had enough and are preparing to stay home or vote for other parties like the Reformists, even if they turn out to be Putin's pets. parrots.
This would be a huge mistake. It is by no means too late to tip the steering wheel in the right direction, avoid Starmergeddon and prevent this country from going completely in the wrong direction.
A YouGov poll released earlier this month showed Sir Keir had a net score of minus 12, with 39 per cent of voters viewing him positively and 51 per cent negatively.
Mr Sunak is, however, much more unpopular with the electorate, with a score of -51, with only 21% viewing him favourably and 72% viewing him unfavourably.
