Expert explains China's buzzword, 'new-quality productive forces,' at seminar co-organized by CNS
BEIJING, CHINA / ACCESSWIRE / June 29, 2024 / China News Service (CNS) co-hosted a high-level seminar from June 17 to 27 in Beijing, where a senior Chinese official explains the Chinese buzzword “New Quality Productive Forces.”
Li Yuju, deputy director of Xi Jinping's Economic Thought Research Center, told CNS that China will continue to organize and implement future industry incubation and acceleration plans in the fields of high-tech and industrial transformation with the aim of establishing a number of future industries.
“The industries of the future are crucial forces in rebuilding the global innovation landscape, reorganizing global resources, reshaping the global economic structure and changing global competitive dynamics,” Li said.
The expert pointed out that the industries of the future are the new areas of competition between major powers, mainly concentrated in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), hydrogen energy storage, new materials , new energies and life sciences, which require long-term planning, proactive strategies and extraordinary measures to ensure competitive advantage.
He called for giving full play to the roles of government and market, and continuously focusing on integrating innovation chains, industrial chains, capital chains and talent chains to create an innovation ecosystem and develop future industrial clusters.
National laboratories, top research universities, national research institutions and cutting-edge technology companies are essential parts of the collaborative efforts, Li added.
