Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held his first meeting with senior officials of the Union government after taking office for his third term, asking them to focus on measures to ensure ease of living of the people, we learn.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Prime Minister's Office and secretaries of Union ministries. The prime minister had held similar meetings during his previous two terms.

More than 30 secretaries spoke during the three-hour meeting when they were asked to make suggestions about their own departments as well as others.

After the secretaries spoke, Modi addressed them. The main message he gave us was the need for a robust grievance redressal mechanism and prompt response to citizens' grievances. The 100-day plan was also briefly discussed, but it was only a minor part of the meeting. The Prime Minister encouraged us to think of ways and ideas to realise the 'Paanch Pran' (five resolutions) to ensure India's development by 2047, said an official who was present at the meeting.

A discussion was also held on the projects and initiatives that could be launched by different ministries in the first 100 days of the government.

According to sources, the Prime Minister said that when a party forms a government for a third term, it is because of the work of the government. He added that even if people do not know the officials, it is their hard work that makes the projects successful.

The meeting with senior officials came a day after Modi met the state ministers for the first time. I heard their experiences and ideas as they have just embarked on their ministerial journey. He also discussed ways to further strengthen governance at the grassroots level, Modi said in an article on X.

Saturday's meeting comes days before the NDA government presents its first full budget in July.
