Jokowi visits Prabowo after major injury recovery surgery

Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto at the Soedirman National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN), South Jakarta. Prabowo is known to have undergone major surgery to recover from his injury.
“Al Hamdulillah Mr. Prabowo's operation @prabowo “A week ago, everything went well,” Jokowi said via his Instagram account @jokowi Sunday evening June 30, 2024.
Jokowi said that the medical treatment carried out by the RSPPN was successful. The head of state appreciated it.
“Medical measures to recover from the injuries suffered by Pak Prabowo while serving in the TNI were successfully implemented by a team of doctors and nurses from RSPPN Sudirman,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi invited us to pray for the president-elect for the period 2024-2029. Thus, Prabowo can resume his duties.
“Let us pray for Pak Prabowo’s recovery process after major surgery, so that, God willing, he will be more ready to fulfill the task of serving the Indonesian people,” Jokowi said.
Meanwhile, Prabowo also posted the timing of Jokowi's visit online. Prabowo thanked Jokowi for his moral support.
“Thank you to the President of the Republic of Indonesia @jokowi who provided moral support and prayers,” Prabowo was quoted as saying on his Instagram account @prabowo.
Prabowo explained that he underwent major surgery due to a serious injury to his left leg while he was still active in the TNI. This injury was obtained due to two parachuting accidents.
“I had two parachuting accidents while serving in the TNI in the 80s in my left leg, I still feel that injury,” he said.
He said that the medical procedures performed were very risky as they risked life. However, medical measures must be taken.
“I am also sure that the team of doctors and all the medical staff who treated him are reliable and professional,” he said.
The working health team is TNI Brigadier General, dr. Robert Hutauruk, colonel dr. Sunaryo, Dr. Siska Widayati, assisted by Dr. Thomas and all the nursing and medical staff of RSPPN Sudirman.
Prabowo said the medical treatment was successful. The injury he suffered is considered healed.
