Jokowi hopes for Prabowo's speedy recovery after foot surgery

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto, who recently underwent foot surgery at the Soedirman National Defense Center (RSPPN) Hospital.
Jokowi shared photos of his time spent in the hospital with Prabowo on his official Instagram account, as seen here on Sunday evening.
“Praise be to God, Mr. Prabowo's (Subianto) surgery last week went smoothly. The medical treatment of Mr. Prabowo's previous injuries while he was in military service was successfully carried out by the team of doctors and nurses at RSPPN Soedirman,” the President said.
The president expressed hope that Prabowo would soon recover from his recent operation.
“Let us pray for Mr. Prabowo’s speedy recovery from surgery so that, God willing, he will be better prepared to serve the Indonesian people,” Jokowi said.
Photographs shared by the president's official account showed Prabowo welcoming Jokowi as he arrived at his hospital room. Prabowo was seen smiling as he chatted with Jokowi.
Also seen with them were Prabowo's son, Didit Hediprasetyo, and adjutant Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Meanwhile, via his official Instagram account, Prabowo informed that his recent surgery was performed to treat his past injuries to his left foot due to skydiving accidents while serving in the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) in the 1980s.
Although the operation took place last week, he mentioned the need to remain hospitalized this week for post-operative treatment and convalescence.
Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the president's support, including visiting him personally.
“I thank President Joko Widodo for his support and prayers,” the president-elect said.
