Jokowi to facilitate investment for Family Offices in Indonesia, what are the opportunities?

Liputan6.com, Jakarta President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held an internal meeting with a number of senior Indonesian ministers and heads of institutions to discuss the potential of a family office investment program. The meeting took place at the State Palace in Jakarta.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno arrived at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta at around 09:00 WIB.
“We were invited to discuss economic and financial strengthening, one of which is the family office project. We will report on it later,” Sandiaga Uno said at the Presidential Palace, as quoted by ANTARA, Monday (1/7/2024).
The head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Muhammad Yusuf Ateh was also present at the meeting. Other officials present included Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar.
Regulations for Family Offices in Bali
Previously, Sandiaga Uno had drafted regulations to attract the economic potential of the family office which would be based in Bali.
“We will calculate the initial targets and regulations that need to be presented,” Sandiaga Uno said after attending the World Water Forum in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali last May.
Family office is a concept in which wealthy families manage their investments in a region while traveling. This concept has been implemented in different countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Monaco, London, Hong Kong and Dubai.
Sandiaga believes that Bali is very ready to develop this concept because it has a mature tourism ecosystem. Apart from that, it is very important to support infrastructure such as housing and a good digital economic network.
