Price hike, unemployment, broken promises: INC MP Pramod Tiwari lists his problems with the government
The Speaker asked all members to be heard with rapt attention. INC MP Pramod Tiwari from Rajasthan rose to speak. He said that the Speaker's speech seemed to reflect a tired, lost, reduced and hopeless government.
He claims that no concrete solution has been found to combat the price hike. Mr Tiwari asks what happened to the 400 seats won and asks the BJP to think about why it did not win them.
“We are facing the worst unemployment rates in 38 years,” he says. He also points to the violence in Manipur. “Petrol and diesel prices have gone up despite the drop in crude oil prices in global markets,” Tiwari says.
As members interrupt Mr Tiwari's speech, Mr Dhankhar calls for silence and calls INC chief Jairam Ramesh incorrigible. Later, he also says that he is doing the job of Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge for him.
He lists several government promises that have not been kept, including allocating land to farmers, starting high-speed trains and capturing criminals who fled abroad with large sums of money.
