His remarks come a day after the ruling alliance criticised the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for making what they considered to be a “most irresponsible” speech.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Prime Minister encouraged MPs to delve deeply into parliamentary issues, maintain regular attendance and effectively address issues concerning their constituencies.
“The Prime Minister has given us a mantra which is very important. He said that every MP has been elected to the House to serve the nation. Irrespective of the party he belongs to, service to the nation is our first responsibility. Every NDA MP should work by putting the country first, this is what the Prime Minister has urged,” Rijiju told the media.
“Secondly, the Prime Minister has guided us well regarding the conduct of MPs. He said that every MP should present the issues of his constituency in the House very well, as per the rules. He also asked us to develop expertise in other important issues of interest – be it water, environment, social field. So the Prime Minister asked us to develop expertise in these areas. The Prime Minister urged the NDA MPs to follow the rules of Parliament, the system of parliamentary democracy and the conduct which is essential to become a good MP,” he added.
Asked whether Prime Minister Modi had referred to Gandhi's speech in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Rijiju said no specific mention was made. He, however, added that when the Prime Minister of the country speaks, the message is meant for everyone.
Gandhi had launched a scathing attack on the BJP in the Lok Sabha, accusing the ruling party leaders of encouraging communal divisions. His remarks sparked strong protests from treasury members, with Prime Minister Modi criticising the Congress leader for calling the entire Hindu community violent.
At the alliance meeting, NDA leaders congratulated Modi on his “historic” third term, as reported by Rijiju.
Modi also encouraged MPs to visit the Prime Ministers Museum, highlighting its documentation of the life stories of all prime ministers, something previous governments had not undertaken.
