President Jokowi asks police to be role model for society
Jakarta — President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked the Indonesian police to be a role model and establish good communication with the community in line with an improved image on the occasion of the 78th Bhayangkara Day.
In his speech at the 78th Bhayangkara Day 2024 commemoration ceremony at the National Monument area in Jakarta on Monday, President Jokowi, who acted as the ceremonial inspector, appreciated the National Police as the second best institution in the latest Kompas research and development survey.
“I am pleased that several recent surveys show that the image of the National Police is improving, even ranking second. “We should be grateful for this and must be maintained and improved through good public communication, being a role model and building a people-oriented service ethic,” President Jokowi said in his speech at the ceremony.
According to the President, the National Police plays a central role in society and is always in touch with people's daily lives. The Head of State stressed that the National Police is close and in the middle of society, so all movements and actions of the National Police are closely observed.
