After giving a fiery reply in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (July 3), which is scheduled to resume at 11 am. Modi's speech is expected to focus on key issues such as the NEET exam, inflation and the Agniveer scheme, all of which have been debated in the Upper House of Parliament so far.

The Rajya Sabha is set to resume proceedings today after the Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Tuesday evening following the Prime Minister's fiery reply to the motion of thanks on the President's speech.

Prime Minister Modi's speech in the Rajya Sabha will come a day after his scathing counter-attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. The Prime Minister said Rahul Gandhi and the Congress are making all-out efforts to convey that the BJP-led NDA has lost the 2024 general elections despite its historic third-term victory.

Modi took several digs at Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc after the party's League was accused of linking Hinduism to violence in its reply to the vote of thanks.

In his over two-hour-long reply to the motion of thanks for the President's speech in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi said the Congress had become a “parasite” on its allies and had turned “lies” into a political weapon. The prime minister also faced slogans on the Manipur issue while addressing the Lok Sabha, reserving a significant portion of his speech to attack the opposition.

“We will not be able to protect parliamentary democracy without taking seriously what happened yesterday. We should not ignore these acts by calling them childish, by considering them childish, we should not ignore them at all and I am saying this because the intentions behind all this are not good and I also want to wake up the countrymen,” Modi said.
