“A single phone call from Xi Jinping could end the Russo-Ukrainian war”

HELSINKI, KOMPAS.com – Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that a simple phone call from Chinese President Xi Jinping could end the Russo-Ukrainian war.
Stubb's statement was quoted in an interview with Bloomberg published on July 3, 2024.

“They must protect international rules regarding territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Stubb said, adding that this would demonstrate China's leadership.
Stubb also said it was currently impossible to push for a ceasefire.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during his visit to kyiv on July 2, 2024, urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider a ceasefire.
Orban argued that a ceasefire could speed up peace negotiations, which are currently dragging on for too long.
