Akhilesh Yadav speaks out on PM's dig at Rahul Gandhi
Prime Minister Modi launched a fierce counter-attack against Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha yesterday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's infantilising attacks on Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha have drawn a sharp reaction from the Congress and its allies. The opposition said the prime minister was resorting to such attacks because he had no answers to the many questions on burning issues like the NEET issue.
Responding to the motion of thanks to the President's speech, the Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the Congress and in particular on Mr Gandhi, who had earlier attacked the BJP in his remarks on Monday.
Addressing the Lok Sabha amidst opposition slogans, the Prime Minister responded to Mr Gandhi's allegations that the Centre had used investigative agencies to target him.
“The wailing of 'balak buddhi' continued. 'I was beaten'. A new drama was launched to gain sympathy. The fact is that he is out on bail in a multi-lakh rupees corruption case, was convicted for calling an OBC community member a thief and had to apologise in the Supreme Court for lying,” he said.
“This childish spirit sometimes tries to hug someone in the House and sometimes winks,” the Prime Minister said. He was referring to the 2018 episode in which Mr Gandhi had crossed the Treasury benches and hugged Prime Minister Modi.
The Prime Minister used the popular Gangs of Wasseypur dialogue, “Tumse na ho payega”, to mock Mr Gandhi and said the country was telling the Congress leader that he was “not good enough”.
In response, the Congress said 140 million Indians had told the Narendra Modi government “tumse na ho payega” in this election.

In a post on X, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also criticised the prime minister for calling the main opposition party a “parasite” and said he had also used the term to refer to the protesting farmers.
“The way you mentioned ‘Tumse Na Ho Payega’ in your 2 hour 24 minute speech, 140 crore Indians said the same thing to your government in this election,” he said. “Modi ji, you have insulted the mandate. Understand the sentiments of the people, give up dictatorship!” the Congress leader said.
Responding to the Prime Minister's injection of “parasites”, the Congress leader said he had used the same word to refer to farmers during their 2020-21 protest.
“You have insulted the peasants' struggle for their rights that has been going on for years. Faced with this, your dictatorial government had to bow down and withdraw the three anti-peasant black laws.
“Today you have used the same word for the Congress party. This is not a misnomer on the part of the Congress party. It is a matter of pride for us to sacrifice our lives for nation building along with farmers,” Kharge said.
Congress ally Samajwadi Party also hit back at the prime minister for his 'balak buddhi' (buddhi crime) against Rahul Gandhi. “All these things are said so that no one asks questions about NEET. Those who say 'balak buddhi' are themselves balak (children) because when people have chosen someone, such comments should not be made. There are balaks in the government who are still not able to understand the problems of the country,” said Akhilesh Yadav, Kannauj MLA and Samajwadi Party leader.
