The muddy and hollow road to Palakka bone market is filled in front of Jokowi's Kunker

The muddy and potholed road of Palakka Market, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) was filled ahead of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) working visit (kunker) this afternoon. A total of 20 trucks of materials were dispatched to the site.
Monitoring detikSulsel On site, Thursday (4/7/2024), the mud and potholes were filled with stones and leveled with simple tools using a shovel. Several officers from the Bina Marga, Cipta Karya and Land Management Department (BMCKTR) wearing batik clothes rushed to cover the still muddy and pothole-ridden road before President Jokowi arrived.
“In Palakka market, we are using around 20 material trucks. In total, there are 37 material trucks, including those heading to the restaurant where the president will be having lunch,” BMCKTR department head Askar told detikSulselThursday (4/7).

“We have been working since yesterday evening and we just finished this morning. We have filled all the potholes and muddy roads,” he added.
Askar explained that the preparations to fill the streets of Palakka Market were completed in one day. He hoped that President Jokowi's visit to Palakka Market would go smoothly.
“Thank God, (hopefully) everything can be completed before the president arrives,” he added.
Earlier, it was reported that President Jokowi was scheduled to visit Palakka Market this afternoon. Jokowi will check the prices of basic commodities.
“Mr. President wants to check the prices directly at Palakka market. All prices of basic commodities,” Bone Trade Kadis Hamzah Sunusi told detikSulselThursday (4/7).
When asked why he chose Palakka market, Hamzah admitted that Palakka market is the busiest market in Watampone. In this market, the trading activity also lasts till the afternoon.
“Palakka market is the busiest in Bone as people sell till afternoon. So the visits are the same as in other provinces, every traditional market is visited to check prices,” he explained.
“The traditional markets (the president wants to see) the transactions of buyers with traders directly. And wants to confirm whether prices have increased or not,” Hamzah continued.
