The Congress on Thursday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP MP Anurag Thakur had made inaccurate and misleading statements in the House.
MP Manickam Tagore, who wrote to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, requested that the provisions of Directive 115(1) be invoked and that due process be initiated and appropriate action be taken in this regard. Under Directive 115(1), any MP wishing to point out an inaccuracy in a statement made by another MP must write to the Speaker of the House of Representatives before raising the issue in Parliament.
