Erdogan cancels Turkey's trip to Azerbaijan for Euro match
President Recep Tayyip Erdoan has rearranged his schedule to travel to Germany on Saturday to attend the Euro 2024 quarter-final match between the Crescent Stars and the Netherlands.
Originally scheduled to attend the informal summit of Turkish heads of state in Shusha, Azerbaijan, Erdoan has chosen to cancel his participation, Turkish media reported.
Vice President Cevdet Ylmaz will be present in his place.
After the football match, Erdoan will travel to the United States for the NATO leaders' summit, scheduled to take place in Washington from July 9-11.
President Erdoğan, a keen football fan, has been closely following the Crescent Stars' journey to Euro 2024 from the start.
