Lalu Prasad makes big statement, says Narendra Modi govt in Delhi can fall by August, elections can happen anytime
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday claimed that the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre could fall by August.
“I appeal to all party workers to be ready as elections can happen anytime. Modi's government in Delhi is very weak and it can fall by August,” ANI reported, quoting the RJD chief.

The RJD chief's statement comes just days after the Congress claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's legitimacy had been reduced to “one-third” and his government was “running out of steam” and could fall at any time.
Reacting to Lalu Prasad's statements, Union Minister Nityanand Rai said that people believe in Prime Minister Modi and they do not want a Jungle Raj.
“By nominating Prime Minister Modi for the third time, the people of the country and Bihar have expressed their wish that Prime Minister Modi should be the true son of India and should be able to take the country forward. The people of Bihar believe in Prime Minister Modi, Nitish Kumar, NDA-BJP, they do not want a Jungle Raj,” Rai was quoted as saying by ANI.
Earlier this week, in his reply to the debate on the motion of thanks, Prime Minister Modi said that since the results were out, a Congress leader had been saying that a “third-party government” was in place.
Modi also said that the verdict of the 2024 general elections showed that the people had rejected propaganda and voted for performance. He said the politics of misleading people had been defeated.
After the end of the parliamentary session, in an interview with PTICongress leader Jairam Ramesh criticised PM Modi and said, “The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha and the simultaneous session of the Rajya Sabha have certainly seen two things: a new, aggressive, revived and rejuvenated opposition in the INDIA group, which is the way it should be in a democracy, but at the same time, we have also seen no change in the attitude, approach and behaviour of the non-biological Prime Minister.”
After the Lok Sabha election results, leaders of the INDIA bloc said they would take appropriate steps at an appropriate time to fulfil the desire of the people not to be ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
Kharge added that the opposition leaders were determined to continue their fight against the “fascist regime” of the BJP led by Narendra Modi.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 292 seats, while the opposition alliance, INDIA, won 232 seats.
