Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday threatened to go on hunger strike if Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa fails to deliver justice in the cases against him. The 71-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief made the statement while interacting with the media at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where he is currently lodged.

Request for fair trial

Khan was present in the court for the hearing of the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. He expressed concerns over the involvement of Chief Justice Isa in the PTI benches and threatened to go on hunger strike if justice was not served. “I am discussing the possibility of going on hunger strike. If I don’t get justice, I will go on hunger strike,” Khan said, highlighting his lawyers’ objections over the presence of Chief Justice Isa in the benches.

Historical distrust

Khan questioned Chief Justice Isa's constant involvement in PTI cases, citing former Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed's opinion that Isa should not hear PTI cases. He added that PTI lawyers believe that they will not get justice with Isa on the bench and their cases should be assigned to someone else.

Chief Justice's clarifications

Chief Justice Isa clarified in a PTI hearing that the juries for various cases are constituted by a committee of the three senior judges of the court, and not by him alone. He is one of the three members of this committee.

Background to the conflict

There is some distrust between Khan and Chief Justice Isa. As prime minister, Khan had filed a complaint to remove Isa from his judgeship on suspicion of corruption. Isa and his wife endured a long legal process, with the Supreme Court eventually dismissing the case against them.

Al-Qadir Trust Corruption Case

In the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case, Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are accused of accepting land worth billions of rupees as bribe from a real estate tycoon.

Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily.
