Indonesian President Joko Widodo inspects water pumps in Layoa village
BANTAENG, Aliefmedia.id – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo arrived in Bantaeng Regency with the First Lady, Iriana Joko Widodo. He left Bulukumba Regency and went directly to Layoa Village, Gantarangkeke District for a working visit.
The arrival of the number one in Indonesia was warmly welcomed by Acting. Bantaeng Regent, Andi Abubakar accompanied by Acting. Chairman of TP. PKK Bantaeng, Andi Raodhayanti, with Acting. Governor of South Sulawesi, Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh and elements of the Regional District Leadership Coordination Forum. Bantaeng, in Layoa Village, Friday (7/05/24).
On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, conducted a review of the water pump assistance program for rice fields covering an area of approximately 500 hectares.
Layoa village chief Andi Sufriadi said the assistance of water pumps for rice fields is very helpful for farmers and the community because two harvests can be achieved in one year, whereas previously there was only one harvest.
President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo expressed his gratitude that the pumping assistance program provided by the Ministry of Agriculture can increase farmers' productivity.
“Of course, apart from increasing the productivity of farmers, this also contributes to the well-being of the community, as it ensures the availability of water during the dry season,” he said.
On this occasion, Joko Widodo was seen greeting the local community who were very enthusiastic about welcoming the arrival of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.
He also distributed about 1,000 basic necessities to the community.
After the inspection in Layoa Village, the President of the Republic of Indonesia then visited RSUD Prof. Anwar Makkatutu Bantaeng, to inspect the service facilities and health of BPJS.
The visit took place for two days in 5 districts of South Sulawesi, including Kab. Os, Kab. Sinjai, Kab. Bulukumba, Kab. Bantaeng and Kab. Takalar.
This is certainly the second story of the District. Bantaeng, after 62 years, the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno visited him once. (Ramli Rifal AMN)
