US presidential polls 2024: Joe Biden's latest gaffe, as he says he will beat Donald Trump again in 2020

With just months to go until the 2024 US presidential election, current President Joe Biden declared on July 5 that he is remaining in the race for president.

He even added that he would beat former US President Donald Trump, ANI reported citing NBC News.

Addressing his supporters in Madison, Biden said, as quoted by ANI: “You probably heard that I had a little debate last week. I can't say it was my best performance, but since then there's been a lot of speculation: 'What's Joe going to do? Is he going to stay in the race? Is he going to drop out, what's he going to do?' Well, here's my answer. I'm running and I'm going to win again.”

Biden pointed out that people were trying to push him out of the race. He announced, as NBC reported: “Let me say this as clearly as I can: I'm still in the race! I will beat Donald Trump.”

But Biden made a gaffe when he said he would beat Donald Trump again in 2020. But he then appeared to correct himself and said: “We're going to do it again in 2024.”

Saying he would not let a 90-minute debate erase his accomplishments of the past three and a half years, Biden said: “I learned a long time ago that when you get knocked down, you get back up.”

Biden, his Democratic allies say, should campaign more vigorously to prove he is capable of a second term.

Biden even brought up his age. “You think I’m too old to reinstate Roe v. Wade nationwide? You think I’m too old to ban assault weapons again? To protect Social Security and Medicare?” he asked the crowd, receiving a negative response.

He then asked the audience if he was too old to defeat Trump, to which the audience responded, “No!”

Biden is currently 81 years old, while Trump is 78. According to a poll by The New York Times and Siena, 74% of voters consider Biden too old for the job.
