Jokowi points out that “authorization” is replaced by “recommendation”: it's the same, management is complicated

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the government has carried out many deregulations and debureaucratizations to facilitate licensing issues. However, according to Jokowi, there are still regulations that are not in line with the efforts made on the ground.
“Even though we know that many deregulations have been carried out, even though many debureaucratizations have also been carried out, we still find regulations that are out of sync. There are still many complicated bureaucratic procedures in practice,” Jokowi said at the LHP LKPP 2023 handover ceremony at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Central Jakarta, Monday (8/7/2024).
“'Permit' is replaced by 'consideration', 'permit' is replaced by 'recommendation', it's the same, management is complicated. Whether in the center or in the regions. Don't applaud anyone,” Jokowi continued.

Jokowi said it would be easy to blame this in the investigation process. Jokowi called for structural reforms to remain a priority.
“Things like these involve, once again, complicated bureaucratic procedures that still exist in practice on the ground. Such things are easy to blame during inspections and are a source of fear for our government officials,” he said.
“I therefore hope that it is important to continue the structural reforms that are underway,” he continued.
Jokowi hopes that the synchronization of regulations and simplification of procedures must continue so that the government can operate effectively and efficiently in the future.
