After virus damage and potholes, Jokowi inaugurated the repair of 16 roads in Lampung
METROJAMBI.COM – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono and Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan inaugurated 16 sections of the regional road instruction on the Keramat Teluk – Sri Widodo section on Thursday (11/7/2024).
The road, which spans eleven districts in Lampung province, has a total length of 102.5 km.
In his speech, Jokowi said the road repairs, which cost 806 billion rupiah, are expected to speed up residents' mobility.

“We know that this is a production path that will accelerate the mobility of goods and people,” he said.
It is known that before the road was rebuilt, access from the national road to the inauguration point took up to 1 hour.
But now, residents only need 10 to 15 minutes to reach the national road or the opposite direction.

Head of the Lampung National Road Implementation Center (BPJN), Susan Novelia, who was also present at the inauguration, said a similar thing.
“Now it can be used to transport agricultural products as it is a central junction that connects district roads,” he explained.
Before the central government's intervention, the badly damaged roads had gone viral as many people posted the conditions on social media.

Currently, only a few sections of the road still require maintenance. Jokowi said the road would be repaired immediately and completed this year.
