Islamabad [Pakistan]July 17 (ANI): Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said that the decision to ban Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would be taken after discussions with affiliated political parties, ARY News reported. Speaking to the media, Ishaq Dar pointed out that the PTI government’s subsequent economic mismanagement and the theft of 2018 elections are the cause of the current inflation rather than the current administration. He said that apart from trying to revive the country’s economy and reduce inflation, the coalition administration has managed to escape bankruptcy. Dar expressed optimism about the prospects of the economy and the imminent decline in inflation. Dar further added that the Election Commission has evidence that the PTI is receiving funds from external sources.

He stressed the need to respect the law and the constitution and said that any decision regarding the recent remarks made by Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar would first be discussed with the allies, according to ARY News. Besides stressing that the law and the constitution must be respected and appropriate sanctions must be applied, he also stressed that the PTI had already participated in negotiations to resolve the difficulties. The Pakistani government’s decision to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has drawn criticism from political parties across the aisle, with several leaders criticizing the move and saying it was undemocratic and would have far-fetched implications. The PTI said in a press conference that the move was a result of the “embarrassment” the ruling party faced after the Supreme Court’s decision that granted reserved seats to the PTI.
