Amid speculation over differences between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The meeting took place amid the brouhaha of a planned organisational reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh, weeks after the BJP's shocking debacle in the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

The politician reportedly briefed Prime Minister Modi about the organisational problems affecting the party in the politically crucial state, PTI reported.

On Tuesday, Chaudhary and Maurya met BJP president JP Nadda.

The meetings took place days after Keshav Prasad Maurya said at a party event that “the organisation is always bigger than the government and no one can be bigger than the organisation”.

This remark was made in the presence of Yogi Adityanath and BJP chief JP Nadda.

The Chief Minister They blamed the poll's setbacks on overconfidence.

Maurya today wrote a cryptic message on X in which he repeated the most important message of his organization.

“Organization is bigger than government, workers’ pain is my pain. No one is bigger than organization, workers are pride,” said the post shared by the Deputy Chief Minister’s office on X.

Reports say the BJP top brass is in touch with Maurya and Chaudhary, who are taking steps to put their house in order against a resurgent opposition.

There are speculations that the BJP central leadership will soon announce a major organisational reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh.

PTI, citing sources, reported that the BJP's top priority is to do well in the upcoming Assembly by-elections in 10 seats in UP.

Keshav Prasad Maurya criticizes Akhilesh Yadav

Meanwhile, after his message drew mockery from the opposition towards the BJP, Keshav Prasad Maurya today said that the BJP is strong at the national and state levels and will win the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2027.

“SP Bahadur Shri Akhilesh Yadav ji, BJP has a strong organisation and government both at national and state level, SP's PDA is a fraud. SP hooliganism coming back in Uttar Pradesh is impossible, BJP will repeat 2017 in 2027 assembly elections,” he wrote on X.

He was reacting to Akhilesh Yadav's remark that there was infighting within the BJP.

“In the heat of the BJP’s power struggle, governance and administration in Uttar Pradesh have been put on hold. The political sabotage work that the BJP used to do in other parties is now being done within its own party. That is why the BJP is sinking into a quagmire of internal strife. No one in the BJP is thinking of the public,” Yadav had written on X.

How did the BJP fare in the Lok Sabha polls in UP?

In the recent Lok Sabha polls, the INDIA alliance of the SP and Congress won 43 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state, while the BJP-led NDA won 36. The NDA had won 64 seats in 2019.

Due to below par performance in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP could not cross the mid-term mark in the Lok Sabha.
