Jakarta (ANTARA) – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marvest) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan shared his memories with President Joko Widodo when he decided to ban nickel exports as the government's first step in downstream.

During his speech, Luhut shared his memories of entering the presidential palace area with President Jokowi. At that time, President Jokowi, Luhut said, decided to ban nickel exports.
Luhut said President Jokowi's decision meant that Indonesia risked losing $1.5 billion in nickel ore export revenue. However, on the other hand, the ban on nickel exports will make Indonesia respect and respect and the value of exports will increase.

He believes that President Joko Widodo laid the foundation for the country as an industrialized country that does not just export materials. President Jokowi's government is seen as having left a legacy that is not easy.
According to Luhut, thanks to the export ban policy, there are no longer countries that take Indonesia lightly and think that Indonesia can be regulated. On the other hand, Indonesia is now a great country with character.
Therefore, he asked all assistant ministers to the president to continue to monitor all regulations implemented by President Jokowi and maintain the credibility built over the past 10 years.
