Former US President Donald Trump has announced that he will be interviewed by billionaire CEO and entrepreneur Elon Musk next week.

“Monday night I will be doing a big interview with Elon Musk,” the former president wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “Details to follow,” Trump added, as reported by US publications including The Hill newspaper.

The Republican presidential candidate was recently interviewed at his Mar-a-Lago residence by live streamer Adin Ross.

Trump noted that Ross' interview helped the streaming platform “Kick” break its viewership record.

Last month, Elon Musk, owner of the social media platform X, endorsed Trump's candidacy after the former president was injured in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. The endorsement marks a break from the usual self-proclaimed neutrality of social media platform executives, as reported by The New York Times.

Following the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, Trump's account was permanently suspended by Twitter (now X) under its previous ownership. However, under Elon Musk's ownership, the account was reinstated.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Elon Musk, who also owns SpaceX and Tesla, has pledged $45 million per month to a new political action committee supporting Trump. America PAC will focus primarily on voter registration and outreach efforts to counter traditionally strong Democrat campaigns.

The proposed talks between Trump and Musk come after Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.

On August 4, the Washington Post reported that five secretaries of state planned to send an open letter to Elon Musk on Monday, urging him to “immediately implement changes” to the AI ​​chatbot Grok of X after it shared false information suggesting that Kamala Harris was ineligible to run for president in 2024.
