Kamala Harris' campaign mocked Donald Trump on its own social media platform, comparing attendance numbers at Democratic and Republican rallies on Truth Social.

The platform was launched by the former president in February 2022 after he was banned from several mainstream platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, now known as X, following the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Trump has touted the platform as being about free speech.

Harris' campaign has a verified account on the platform and used it to post a dig at Trump.

“Harris rally vs. @realDonaldTrump rally. Same arena in Philadelphia,” they posted Tuesday, alongside two photos of Temple University’s Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where both presidential candidates recently held rallies.

One photo shows Harris and her newly announced running mate, Tim Waltz, on stage, with the crowd filling the blue-decorated space. The second photo is much blurrier and appears to show Trump on stage at his rally, with the front row seats empty, a visual that raised questions at the time.

The post was also shared on X by the Kamala Harris campaign on Wednesday, along with a quote from the post that read, “Yes, we posted this on Truth Social.” The post has racked up more than 1.7 million views and 61,000 likes.

Harris announced her vice presidential pick on Tuesday as Tim Walz, and later in the day, the Harris-Walz ticket made its first campaign stop in Philadelphia. According to the Maine Morning Star, the Harris campaign said there were 14,000 people in Temple, either attending the rally at the Liacouras Center or in an overflow room near McGonigle Hall. The room reportedly has a capacity of 10,000.

Trump held a rally in the same area on June 22, before a crowd of nearly 4,000 people, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian.

Harris' campaign account posted similar jokes about the former president three days ago on Truth Social, comparing crowds at rallies held by both parties in Atlanta, Georgia.

In one post, two videos are shown, one captioned “GSU Center in Atlanta – Harris, 7/30,” the other “GSU Center in Atlanta – Trump, 8/3.” In the first video, the crowd appears to have filled the vast majority of seats, while in the second video, a significant number remain vacant. @KamalaHQ wrote on the post: “Sad, @realDonaldTrump.”

The New York Times reported that both candidates drew roughly the same crowds at their rallies in Atlanta, though Trump referenced the fact that entertainers Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo were at Harris' event, suggesting they were the reason she was able to draw a crowd.

At least two other posts from Harris' campaign account on Truth Social reference the size of the crowd at the Atlanta rally, suggesting that Trump's was smaller.

Trump has long boasted about the size of crowds at his events, though his claims have been questioned. One of his first controversies as president was his claim that 1.5 million people attended his inauguration, and that it was the most-watched inauguration in history; both claims have been widely disputed by fact-checkers.

Newsweek has contacted the Trump campaign for comment.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
