KIM Festival 2024 Appreciation Night, IKN Promotion and Public Information Community Awards
Makassar – Thousands of couples visiting Losari Beach witnessed the excitement at the closing night of the Community Public Information Festival (KIM) 2024, launched by the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Saturday (10/08/2024).
The festival, which lasts for three days (August 9-11), is a strategic forum to promote the existence of the national capital (IKN) of the archipelago in East Kalimantan province.
Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong, said that the development of IKN was considered the right step by experts. The existence of IKN will create a new economic center that can reduce the gap between the western and eastern regions of Indonesia.
“Experts say development in Indonesia has so far been centered on Java. “We need a new economic center to bridge the gap between the West and the East,” he said.
Furthermore, Usman explained that IKN was designed as a sustainable and inclusive smart city, so that it can be inhabited by all Indonesians.
“In general, IKN will advance Indonesia. We should be grateful to President Joko Widodo who laid the foundation for a developed Indonesia,” he added.
Usman also hopes that KIM can become a strategic partner in promoting the development of Indonesia in general and each region in particular. The existence of KIM is very important in socializing various policies of the central and regional governments.
“Congratulations and greatest gratitude to the winners of the competition and all KIMs in Indonesia. “I hope we will continue to be a collaborative partner for the government and an information bridge for the community,” he concluded.
This year's KIM Festival brought together 11 KIMs from 9 provinces in Indonesia. This event also brought together Makassar Mayor Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto, Expert Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia for Social and Cultural Affairs Wijaya Kusumawardana, Director of Governance and Partnerships Hasyim Gautama, and Director of IT Empowerment Sepriana.
