Islamabad court issues non-bailable arrest warrant against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Gandapur

Islamabad [Pakistan]September 4 (ANI): In a case involving recovery of firearms and liquor, an Islamabad court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Ali Amin Gandapur, the Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported on Wednesday. According to details, the court rejected Gandapur's request for medical exemption from attendance at the beginning of the hearing. Sessions Court Judge Shaista Khan Kundi heard the case and directed the SHO of Bhara Kahu police station to detain Gandapur and produce him before the court the next day.

Earlier, in a case involving recovery of weapons and liquor, the court summoned KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur. Further, the district and sessions judge ordered Ali Amin Gandapur to appear personally before the court and sought answers to nine of his questions, ARY News reported. It is important to recall that on October 30, 2016, police claimed to have found firearms and liquor in Ali Amin Gandapur's vehicle. Police claimed that while Ali Amin Gandapur was on his way to former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's house in Bani Gala, his vehicle was stopped and checked at a checkpoint on Rukhsana Bangash Road. After conducting a search, police said they found the firearms and ammunition inside the car, ARY News reported. At Islamabad Police Station in Bara Kahu, weapons were on display. These included bulletproof vests, ammunition, tear gas cannons and four Kalashnikov rifles. (ANI)
