President Joko Widodo is expected to take the seat of social affairs minister rather than reshuffle the cabinet.
Political communications analyst Hendri Satrio predicts that President Joko Widodo will replace Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung who resigned because they participated in the simultaneous regional elections with their acting leaders (Plt) rather than reshuffling their cabinets.
This was proven by the fact that the seat of Minister of Social Affairs previously occupied by Risma is now occupied by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy. According to him, the position of Cabinet Secretary can also be occupied by State Secretary Pratikno, as it is still the same field of work.
“I think Pak Jokowi would prefer the ministers who resigned to be acting, such as the Minister of Social Affairs, who was eventually replaced by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, so if the Cabinet Secretary could also be appointed by Pratikno, then in the future, Pak Pratikno will serve as Minister of State, Secretary of State, and Cabinet Secretary,” Hensat said, Tuesday (10/9).

The founder of the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute also does not deny that President Jokowi will reshuffle the cabinet at the end of his term, which is about a month from now. Indeed, a cabinet reshuffle is President Jokowi's prerogative.
However, according to Hensat, it is currently more likely that Jokowi will replace the resigning ministers with caretaker ministers, unless Jokowi wants to prepare ministerial candidates for the future Prabowo Subianto government.
“In my opinion, a cabinet reshuffle is not yet possible unless Mr. Jokowi wants to prepare candidates who will fill these positions for the future Prabowo government, but for now, it seems that they can still be filled by executors given that Mr. Jokowi's term is only a few days away,” Hensat said.
Previously, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung had submitted their resignations from their positions to President Jokowi some time ago. Both resigned due to their participation in the simultaneous regional elections.
Risma is known to be one of the gubernatorial candidates who will run in the East Java regional elections. Meanwhile, Pramono Anung is one of the gubernatorial candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada.
