DWP UIN Ar-Raniry Hands Over Book “Muslim Fashion Iriana Joko Widodo” to Promote Indonesian Muslim Fashion – Atjeh Watch
The State Islamic University (UIN) of the Banda Aceh Dharma Wanita Association (DWP) Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh presented a book entitled “Iriana Joko Widodo's Muslim Fashion” to First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo. The event was also attended by President Joko Widodo, which took place at the Hermes Palace Hotel, Banda Aceh, Monday night (9/9/2024).
The handover of the books was carried out directly by the President of DWP UIN Ar-Raniry, Sofiatuddin Syah, accompanied by the Vice President III of DWP UIN Ar-Raniry, Nadia Fajri, who is also the wife of the Vice Chancellor III for Cooperation and Student Affairs at UIN Ar-Raniry.
Sofiatuddin revealed that this book is the result of his work to present Indonesian Muslim fashion through the clothes worn by the First Lady.
This book is not only a documentation, but also serves as a promotional medium for Indonesian Muslim fashion in the international arena. “We hope this work can inspire and introduce the beauty of Indonesian Muslim fashion to the world,” he said.
Sofiatuddin also stressed the importance of adopting the Muslim fashion style worn by Iriana Joko Widodo. Ms. Iriana always looks simple but elegant. Since she decided to wear the hijab in 2020, her appearance has often received praise, both domestically and internationally, including from China's First Lady Peng Liyuan, he added.
According to Sofiatuddin, the First Lady's simple yet elegant style is in the public spotlight, especially when she wears the hijab. With her elegant and understated clothing, Iriana is seen as supporting the government's vision of making Indonesia the center of global Muslim fashion.
